Harlan Ellison (1934-2018) has always been my favorite writer, and we lost him to history recently. Besides authoring much speculative fiction, in his short stories, novels and screenplays, he was also a movie lover and wrote essays/reviews about some of the world's greatest films (collected in the volumes "Harlan Ellison's Watching" & "...Endlessly Watching").
